I am a shadow, alone in the night
Hiding away and avoiding the light
I am always running and ready to fight
Hiding emotions with all of my might
But there is still something that I cannot hide
A certain strong feeling I can't put aside
I've pushed it deep down, believe me, I've tried
If I say you mean nothing to me, then I've lied
For though I'm not meant to love one of your kind
There's more in the darkness than cruel and maligned
Shadows, who if you look harder, you'll find
Are less of a threat to you than your mind
So join me in blackness, we will be forever
You'll ask if I'll leave you, I'll say that I'll never
Though you cannot see, I'll greatly endeavour
To be your eyes, as we're alone together
