I was obsessed. Were you?
With each breath, could you feel me burning, in every essence of you?
Did you awake each morning and wonder what you’d turned into?
Did you fall into the fatal trap of thinking it was forever, I’d never leave?
Did the very memory of me haunt your every thought and dream?
I was obsessed. Were you?
Did I flood every cell in your body like an everlasting sickness?
Did I manage to draw out and elaborate your every weakness?
Did I spread like fire to every realm in your mind at a mere thought?
Was I like a plague, an infectious disease that you’d forever caught?
I was obsessed. Were you?
Were you ashamed of what you’d become, was I your secret passion?
Was I your addiction, fixation, fascination, your lasting infatuation?
Was I a hunger that drenched every last element of your being?
Was it killing you, could words not describe your need for me?
I was obsessed. You weren’t.
