Betrayal

The world is dark,
My face hidden by my cloak.
You told me I was safe,
Though my voice already broke.
Betrayer! You lying weasel!
How dare you do this to me?
You promised I’d be saved,
You promised I’d be free.
Freedom at all costs, you said,
Chains broken no matter the risk.
But I shouldn’t have trusted you,
Your voice was very brisk.
And now I am still, revenge aside,
For betrayal is a mistake from the human heart.
And so, you villian, what is it you want?
We can meet for the first time again, we can restart.
