Kitten, kitten.
Kitten - a shrunken cat, waiting to transform back.
A playful spell, hypnotic. Lying on my bed, watch him frolic.
Watch him play, play the fool, play the fool with cotton wool.
Cotton wool my cat hits. My Grandma knits.
Knitting, my grandma is always knitting.
She penetrates a place deep in her mind, so deep no-one can go in.
Except her.
She knits away, her hands - ancient and wrinkled - like clockwork.
At least they were.
No-one knows where she is in her mind now -
Maybe she's in mine, knitting away.
Knitting me a new sweater, like the one I'm wearing now,
Where my kitten is purring.
Knittin' kitten.
