Immortals

Lying in my grave, I cry,
Of the life I used to control and love.
But now the tables have turned,
And the spirit has come to take me to the above.

Because of my family and friends I remember,
Memories come flooding back of the mortal life.
Days we wished would never turn to strife.
And nights we knew we'd never forget.

Now in my hectic afterlife,
I jest at the animals, the deers,
Those broken days, the fun, the tears,
Now I lay for immortal sleep.
