We were chosen to look after you
And you nurtured us
But now we are your doom
We were once your guardian angels
But now we are like demons,
Possessed by an unnatural thirst for wealth and power.
Sitting in our own poison we burn and cut you,
You cry out in pain.
Now damaged by our mindset you fade, you rage
Now dry and barren
Driven by guilt we try to repair
But the damage is done.
We are now slowly fading
We are now listening
We are now mourning
We are now falling...
We are our own doom!
