The firefly waits for dark, waiting for the sun to turn red,
Then it flies up with its swarm, it’s wings far spread,
Lighting up the night sky, with its blazing light,
A sound of sparks it sings,
It flies around without a thought,
Not one bit of sadness or dread,
Flying freely and happily,
It’s life well spent,
Zooming through the night sky
Just a blur of red and orange,
Flying so fast it went,
Smoking and sparking as it flies,
When the sun comes back up,
The firefly flies down,
Flying peacefully,
Onto the ground,
As the black sky turns light,
Where it hides in the grasses,
Ready to come back the next night.
