Existence is such a bittersweet subject,
Some beliefs we receive, others we reject.
But why am I alive at this moment?
Is it all just chance, or am I heaven sent?
Religion seems like a convenient solution,
Doing what you are told to receive absolution.
But why would a perfect God design a fallen creation?
Trap his children on earth to receive condemnation?
The simple solution is that there is no purpose,
Love what seems right and curse those who hurt us.
But why then do we feel this inner conviction?
Why must we hate the perpetrator and pity the victim?
The answer we seek is just out of reach,
It's on the tip of our tongues when we try to speak.
Our existence is either eternal or fleeting.
Is my life even worth completing?
