Bang, crash!! “What was that?” screamed Co-Co the Wombat. He peered out the window and it was the sound of all the trees being cut down around him.
Meanwhile, I woke up in my eucalyptus tree starving for some leaves. I went in the kitchen just to see Co-Co the Wombat gobbling the last bowl of leaves. Finally Dad woke up but he seemed to still be tired. “That’s confusing, considering he slept for 22 hours!” One minute later, he was asleep on the lounge again.
I started to walk out of the house in search for adventure. I can’t run that fast because I’m a tree climber. But then a Python jumped out at me. I tried to escape it by climbing a tree but it kept chasing me. I couldn’t out run it because then there was a bushfire. The python and I tries to escape but it kept getting closer, closer and closer. I got onto a sandy area and the fire couldn’t get onto the sand. “I must keep going,” I thought to myself, so I went on adventuring.
I heard a strange sound from behind me. I swiftly turned around but I couldn’t see anything so I kept on walking. Then I saw a big red Fox! I tried to run away from it but it was too fast! Then the hunters came and tried to chase it away but it was too focused on me to be scared by the hunters. I got lucky. I found a tree and climbed it. The hunters scared the fox away.
So again I went on adventuring but then I noticed the sun was going down and it was going to be dark soon. “I had better get back now,” I whispered to myself.
I walked home as fast as possible, hoping that nothing happened to the tree. When I got back, the worst thing happened. It was deforestation time and my forest was getting cut down! “Our beautiful home!” I said in anger, as we tried to stop my tree from falling down, but … CRASH went our home as if it was nothing. “Where are we going now?” asked Co-Co.
“I don’t know” I exclaimed to Co-Co but then a big human came. He showed us a little sapling where our old tree was and he told us that he would keep us until the new tree grew in the old tree’s place.
