It was a dark and stormy night. At least, that’s what all good books start off like. Maybe, it could start off like, “ I was running away from a monster, with big googly eyes, and a big open mouth, and, and, and!” Okay, maybe not. How about this? “Waaaaaaah!!! The baby opened his little tiny eyes and cried for a bottle.” Too babyish? Okay, that one would be for kids. I need to make it exciting. Ooh! I know! “Here Ye, Here Ye, the knight in shining armour is coming to check everyone’s homes to find the missing diamond.” No way!!! Too… hmm what’s the word? Medieval? Yeah, Medieval! No? Okay, maybe it does sound too much like a fairytale story. Hmmmmmmmm. Wow! I never knew writing a sentence starter would be so… hard! Okay, concentrate, Ollie, concentrate. Why don’t we start with, “Oh, save me, Wonder Man, save me! I’m stuck and I need help!’ said Penelope.” Eww! Too lovey-dovey. Okay, I need to think of a starter. It needs to be exciting. It needs to be funny. I know! A biography! Actually, no. No no no. Nuh uh mate. This needs to be done before next week, and I can’t even think of how to start it. Ah huh! I could write a guide to writing a story! “ great idea, Ollie” “why thank you, Ollie.” I am a genius.
