When we landed, we thought abandoned, was an unfamiliar bush-like plain?
The sun was hot, but it stopped us not, we moved on to claim our fame.
Here in this foreign land, with snow like beaches of pure white sand
We came to start a civilisation, which has now become a first world nation.
In this we met the indigenous men, and tried to make peace with them
Although we made mistakes to regret, eventually our cultures together met
Wealth in our society began to grow, building churches, schools and bungalows
Working hard we started to show, the sacrifices we made for prosperity to flow.
Aboriginal and white man, our lives connected, we formed a country, which is now respected
Whites and coloured no longer to roam, we call this place, ‘Australia’ our home…
