The sun has set, the moon will rise,
Shade the light from misting eyes.
Feel the chill of tentative cries.
Stare at me as I go.
Calling out through darkening tones,
Reaching in through flesh and bones;
Softly, dying, breaking moans,
Call what no one knows.
Murky light, a darkened lair,
Bury deep the lock of hair.
Pale moonlight, heavy air.
Now nothing left to show.
Never hold another hand.
Falling rock and sinking sand.
Fraying rope, just one strand,
Courage, finally, to let go.
