Autumn

Blowing in an autumn wind, a fragile life
Hanging by a mere thread, no grasp for hope.
Swaying in balance, the tip of a knife.
As she walks a fine border, the tightrope.

The bridge between worlds, between life and death.
I hold you close, dawn breaks and so do you
Leave me here as you take your final breath.
They say death is endless and that is true.

Crunching leaves underfoot, a reminder
Of nights I spent fallen under your spell.
You were so obsessed, trying to find her
She was your lover but you were my belle.

But now you're gone I realise what I miss,
What I wouldn't give for just one more kiss.
