Hope is the armour I carry
Across the broken borders of my homeland
My body is 60% water
And yet inside me is a blaze that never ends
While these thoughts flood my mind
Thousands are murdered and millions are displaced
And while my soul burns with sacrifice
It seems as though justice and I will never come face to face
So how many more lives do we have to sacrifice?
To understand that peace is not found in their blood nor in any plight
So will it sting less if I say it softly
I am the poem you do not want to write
