Awestruck!

All alone tears running down my cheek,
I try not to show it, but my eyes start to leak,
Laughing, mumbling behind my back,
I hear them, again I am copping some flak,
I walk into class, ready for harassment,
I sink in my seat, so much embarrassment,
End of class with lunch to come,
Fun for others but not for some,
Down the stairs and out to the yard,
But someone comes up and stands guard,
She confronts the bullies, confidently,
Tears are disappearing from within me,
I stare in disbelief, I can’t believe my luck,
Someone has stood up for me, I am….. Awestruck!
So now I feel free,
With a friend right beside me.
