It’s too easy
Easy to hide behind a keyboard and a screen
To be another faceless alien floating in the realm of the internet
We type lol instead of taking the time to really laugh
We say brb but we never really leave
Our noses are always two inches from a screen
Our hands and eyes and lives are so full of Instagram, snapchat, Facebook that we forget to taking the time for people we love
And when we do, our eyes never stray from our phones
We give people time but never attention
And the minute we set our phones down they call for us
They scream for us
Until we pick it up, never to put it down again
When people crave real attention they turn to people they’ve never met instead of the ones they love
We enjoy watching other people’s lives rather than living in our own
Abandoning our lives and the ones we love
Replacing them with lies and half friendships
It’s too easy.
