Oh joy! Bring your army of wires and codes
Glass screens and plastic keys
With blue light haunting our sleep
Bring all of your devices
Of old and new
Updating and resetting outdated
Bring your chargers and earphones
Music blaring, loud and distorted
Battery draining, failing
Such joy emanating from the dull, lifeless rectangles
Heads down, chins down and back bending
Glazed eyes, immobilised fingers
Tap tap tap, ongoing
Click click click, neverending
Zombies and slaves
Trapped in your wires and codes.
