Tomorrow Never Comes

Today is yesterday's dream, and likewise tomorrow for today,
But shall tomorrow ever come?
How surprising
that each passing moment
is like the lulling of the waters;
Wave upon wave
is day upon day.
Time is
stretched by longing,
repressed by fear,
but always pulls us
ever forward.
How curious,
That when we lay down to sleep
it is not tomorrow that wakes us,
But today.
