In the near distance I heard something mumble, but suddenly my stomach started to rumble,
I thought of digesting a roast lamb whilst fully blasting “You’re The Voice” by John Farnham,
I looked to my right to see my best mate who was loading up his hook with some heavy duty bait,
Again I heard that light buzz, but I guess that is just what the bush does,
Unexpectedly something crawls into my thong, I brought my favourite pair (they’re Billabong),
Then in two shakes of a lamb tail something bit me and sure enough it was a large flea,
I yelped in pain and my mate turned and he flicked his rod over me causing it to rain,
Obviously that’s what caused my wet top to occur, it’ll dry quickly though ‘cause she’s a scorcher,
He insisted that I would be fine and didn’t seem to care, “I’ll be fine” yeah nah yeah,
There it goes again, that subtle noise, but immediately my attention gets transferred to the boys,
They were yelling around the bush telly, one of them almost had a beard like Ned Kelly,
A smile started to form on my face as I thought to myself “this is why I love this place”,
I lay back on my stretcher looking at the sun set and thankfully now my top isn’t as wet,
In the distance I see a boomer, but I choose to ignore it and pull down my Akubra,
I’m about to drift off to sleep when for the last time I hear another beep,
That’s when a small flying bug formed into my sight, and that, is how I got the biggest mozzie bite.
