Howls echoed through the night,awakening the silence of the forest.
The wolf darted in and out of the trees,silently stalking it's ignorant prey;
A young buck unaware of its great danger.
Like a silver phantom the wolf flittered through the bush.
He uttered a single low growl.
The alarmed buck suddenly stopped in it's tracks, and cautiously sniffed the air;
Before bolting into a thicket of trees.
The wolf took off like a streak,quickly gaining ground.
The young buck was speed by terror,
It's desire to survive was great,
But the wolf's will was greater.
Sole survivor of a once strong pack,
Only cunning and swiftness had kept him alive so far.
Up steep cliffs and rocky ledges,the chase went on.
The buck quickly left the lone hunter behind,
For he was a king in his domain,high above in the mountain range.
