Fear And Loss

The darkness is closing, all hope torn apart
Stuck grieving for people who once broke my heart
While others in peace, my happiness has gone
One moment I’m beaming, the next I mourn.
I lost a sister, I lost a brother
I lost a father, I lost a mother
I lost a cousin, I lost a friend
I wish the terror attacks would end.
I leave my home where everything’s gone
And stare at the stars that once had shone
Feelings all drained, trapped in a dark lair
As nothing is left but fear and despair.
The clouds roll over where the sky once lay
And I’m caught in the terror of this sad day
Loved ones are lost, trapped in their last sleep
My memories of them taken, for fear to keep.
