Waiting for the day

He holds me when I start to cry
Makes me smile with just his eyes
Presence is enough to make me smile
If only for a little while
He shares my hopes, dreams and fears
Wipes away all my tears
I love him with all my heart
I'm just afraid to fall apart
When we are together there is nothing but love
It is as if he were sent from above
Now we share time apart
Which has shattered this lonely heart
For now I keep my head up with promise and a grin
Knowing and waiting for the day when we are together again
