i lost you to stardust
to the universe and the moon and the stars
i lost you across the grandiose of the milky way as it
carried you out of this solar system and
lightyears out of my reach.
together we were like a white supernova
brimming,
with solar beams of light but-
i think i might’ve mistaken the real you
for something better, or maybe,
i think you might’ve mistaken me for something better.
my heart still orbits around you, but the
planet of your soul only possesses craters in its wake,
and like anything empty you are nothing to me but
negative space,
a subtraction of the stars.
