I wake up one morning,
like every other.
It’s when I lift myself up,
that I realise it’s another.
My stomach drops,
like when travelling down the peak of a rollercoaster.
I clench my chest closer,
as I try to keep my composure.
My heartbeat fastens for no actual reason.
Episodes like these come and go ten times a season.
As despondent as it may sound or be,
I’ve accepted it’s my own reality.
Although it’s difficult to face,
Time after time,
I know it’s not my fault,
Which is why I will never let it put my life on halt.
