As I lay there,
On the battlefield,
I can hear the sound of,
Guns firing and people dying beside me.

I try to stand but I can’t feel my legs,
Every breath is more painful than the last,
My heart is pounding,
Because I can’t bare the thought of not making it home to the ones I love.
