I search for you in my sleep every night
my soul looks for yours within delusions
I drift through my dreams to catch a sight
of you in this fragmented confusion.
I am alone amongst it all. But, when
you visit me, my mind is calmed
the realms of reality shift and bend
And you ensure the murkiness is gone
My dreams are one thousand unread books
Their stories are lives I’ve never lived
They are passing vignettes; unconscious looks
observations of chapters life could give
You are the essence that connects them all.
The motif in the mosaic of dreams.
Your soul visits me in my sleep at nightfall –
the moon guides you to me in sweeping beams.
