It happened once upon a time,
The Fairy Queen had a ball at nine;
I know that what I say is true,
Because below my window the fairy’ flew.
T’was a moonlight dance among the roses,
Dancing and singing for hours and hours.
I crept out of bed to see a little more,
Tiptoeing, so to not disturb the ball.
My eyes grew wide when I saw the dancing,
Such grace, had they, like none other;
The dresses swirled as the dancers twirled,
But my eyes growing heavy, I crept back to bed.
The melody of the music was beautiful,
And I went back to sleep with no disturbance at all.
