2019
You begin as a tiny tingle,
The twitch in my toe,
The slow rumbling of thunder,
Rain in a faraway land,
Then the earth speeds under-
A blur of colours -
as my breath races,
And my heart beats ever so fast,
A journey to the summit,
Till a sudden drop,
Like a Peregrine Falcon in a barrel roll,
And then the inevitable moment
When I could soar to the moon within a wink.
I clutch breathlessly onto a tiny metal handhold,
And watch as you spirit me around the amusement park,
A giant towering over the lesser attractions
