Nature: Friend Or Foe?

Her hair is the lake, her eyes are the pools
Her hands are the things we all use for tools
Her mouth is the caves, her body is our land
It’s where we belong and walk hand in hand

Mother Nature gives us the things to survive
Shelter, water, and food to make us thrive
And yet what do we do to repay her kindness?
Pollute our land and fill it with darkness

She curses us for all our blindness
Nature will always know where to find us
She brings disasters to show her ire
Earthquakes, cyclones and wildfire

She takes as much as she can give
But, we can’t do anything, on her body we live
So is she our friend, or is she our foe?
Where there’s hope, there is a road
