After months of incessant preparation
The intricacies of parental gaiety
Are shattered to a kaleidoscope
Of broken dreams, departed hope
Wretchedly lost to a pragmatic entity.

The book of life remains unmarked
An anticipated zenith gently cascading
To a glacial, numbing agony,
Encapsulated in a poignant reality
With only debilitating sorrow pervading.
