Heartbeat

She lost to Death.
He took her last breath.
A bet, a gamble,
Took her to a tumble,
She played with the devil,
Now in peril.
Never should’ve came,
Never look for fame.
Too arrogant to know,
He came long ago.
To take their spirits,
With bribery and trickery.
She was one of them,
The lost men and women.
They’re minds of concrete...
So he took their last heartbeat.
