WAR NURSE
Death, Destruction, Dehumanisation,
What is with this civilisation?
I am wondering Around a medical ward
Thinking, ‘how on earth can they stay ignored?’
this isn't right, this isn't fair,
life should not be about despair.
I can see BOOM, SMASH …
I can see a man CLICK, CRACK.
I can never get a word out without having a heart attack.
All around the ward are men laying down on beds and on the floor,
They never thought it would be this way when they walked out of the door.
I may not be a soldier, but I am a nurse here and I never thought I’d feel this much fear!
The fear consumes me like a fire eats the air a pain that I cannot bare.
