Why is x always lost?
What does evaluate even mean?

I sit in the test, blank page, blank mind,
The teacher cannot help but tries to remind.
I was not taught this!
This is madness!
My head is full of sadness,
For my perfect record is going down the drain.
It says, x2 + y2 + 4x – 2y = -1,
While in class it said, 32 + 42 – 1 = 24!
The teachers say you were prepared for this!
It makes me want to call it quits.
I put my education in their hands,
But it's almost like they planned,
For our tests to be scanned,
And given a big, red, E.
