A bump in the night

In your room you're fast asleep,
You hear a bump as something creeps,
A creaky door a spooky tree,
Think to yourself "What could it be?"
A monster lurking in darkness deep,
You tell yourself go back to sleep!
But what could it be there's nothing there,
A lonely desk beside it's chair,
That's all there is in the room,
Not a creature await your doom,
Suddenly you reach out into the dark,
You find a switch then a spark,
Monster fears flee the light,
When you hear a bump in the night.
