Finalist in the 'The Inside Story 2020' competition
We drove along the desert plains,
And raced down roads with forgotten names.
The sun was hot,
But we didn’t stop,
We were headed to Uluru.
As the sky grew dark,
The bush life starts.
There were red Kangaroos,
Sulphur-crested Cockatoos.
We rolled out swags for the night,
Mesmerized by the moonlight.
We had made it to Uluru.
As we walked across the red hot sand,
The wind screamed,
and i started to dream.
I will always remember Uluru.
