Glimpses of shimmering silver rushing past
A ceaseless barrage of misery and anguish
Heaven's tears a deafening blanket
Stifling all that moves
The abusive sounds
The painful thoughts
Too much to bear
Too scared to heal
But a light in the void
A speck in the ocean of watery dread
Sparks hope in drowned sorrows' past
Of new-lit ambition
The once dancing flames of a roaring inferno
Are smothered by an overbearing world
Yet the embers of hope remain
Waiting to be reignited into a new beginning.
