Excellence Award in the 'The Inside Story 2020' competition

The rice, pasta and toilet paper is all gone,
In these crazy times, a new virus has been born.
COViD-19 is upon us and our world is in need,
Social isolation is the new norm and it’s boring indeed!

But we all need to play our part and isolate indoors,
It may be a bit tedious, but it’s helping the cause.
School is at home now and sport has been canned,
Footy, flights and Easter holidays are unfortunately all banned.

Scomo is working hard telling us we need to flatten the curve,
Pressure and stress are rising and it’s affecting people’s nerves.
The doctors and nurses are helping the frail and the ill,
The scientists are in labs trying to find a healing pill.

There’s still hope for tomorrow, that the world will be right again,
When we will see our family and loved ones, our teachers and our friends.
We will enter our new world with appreciation and hearts with no fear,
As we hope, pray and wish that COViD-19 will soon disappear.
