I’d rather be a ‘real nightmare’ instead of a sweet dream,
I wouldn’t wanna be a pretty picture of a plastic, perfect Barbie Doll
Constantly smiling, acting like everything is great
When really it isn’t and hiding away any pain
The orthodox Barbie, always looking like she has the premium life
The finest things of life, making it seem like money equals happiness a real thing
Making young girls ask their mother ‘why don’t I look like barbie?”
And their mother has no good reply
‘Barbie worked hard for her looks’
‘How so?’ the girl ask
‘Plastic surgery’
So little girls start to dream of looking like Barbie and dream of getting surgery
‘Blonde hair, blue eye, tiny waisted girls’ are what the media pushes for those silly words,
‘Perfect; ‘beautiful’ ‘gorgeous’ ‘wonderful’
Little girls growing up growing up too fast, feeling like they aren’t good enough
Always dreaming of looking like Barbie
The plastic perfect Barbara Millicent Roberts
The plastic perfect Barbie Doll who is more of a sweet dream than a ‘real nightmare’
