Rain

As the rain starts to drop
The birds start to shiver
But instead of the rain bringing fun
It actually makes a river.
The ferocious wind grows stronger
As the trees start to sway
The day is getting longer
As the water floats away.
My boots start to fill with rain
As my mind starts to wonder
All the water in a drain
Yes that’s something to ponder.
Is it the thunder making me sleepy
Or that I need to go to bed
My eyes are feeling weepy
It’s time to rest my head.
