I saw them, dropping out of the sky, small as tiny liquid globes
As they splashed onto the tall city towers
Cleansing them of the age-old dust.
The beautiful morning light reflected off the raindrops, as they
Sprinkled the air with water, like dancers on their stage.
They filled the dry air, as the sun set into the horizon,
Reflecting the environment around them
Moisturising the ground beneath them
And with each drop, each sound, they washed away the curses of the farmers.
I watched them fall from the sky
A pattern of lines and dots, a picture painted in the sky,
A piece of art created by nature.
In the night sky, invisible, against the dark background,
They fell steadily, in a rhythm, onto rooftops like a lullaby
Luring those who stirred back to sleep
I heard them descend into the ground, as they rinsed every part of this world
