Darkest, starless midnight
Coal being dug from a sooty land
Spicy pepper burning the tongue
Livid storm clouds rolling in
Mascara smudged on thin eyelashes
Inky cat creeping out of infinite shadows
Bats, crows, penguins
Diving into the clouded depths of the Black Sea
Black eye the bully obtained
Obsidian, charcoal
Tyre marks on tar roads
Paint brushes in murky water
Widow’s weeds worn at a sombre funeral
Sorrow, emptiness, fear
Elegance, mystery, power
