Ginger, black, cream, and coffee, she’s so beautiful just like toffee
In the morning April Meows! , and from my slumber I am aroused
Her paw knocks on my door and scratches the floor, so I set her free
She runs like a leopard to catch something feathered in the tree
Balancing on the boogie board and surfing in the pool is her passion
She is so special and has a really unique fashion
Sunbaking under the mulberry tree and staring at the noisy miner
This makes her tummy rumble, so she comes home to eat at her diner
She purrs for the water in the tub and laps it up without a rest
Her body clock says it’s time to nap in the warmth of the cupboard that’s best
The afternoon sun makes her spring up and wish for a run
All creatures big and small make April jump, roll, run and have fun
As the sun sets, watering plants and playing with the stream makes her beam
Darkness comes, so I rattle the tin to make her run in and eat her treat
She jumps to the laundry tap to lick her water sweet, and complete a final feat
Finally April snuggles up purring to sleep, like a baby not missing a beat
