A long way away, in the country of Peru,
Lived a strange dog, unlike me or you.
Yes this dog was blind, and he wasn't wanted.
So he roamed the streets, unsheltered, haunted.
But one day the pound came looking for him,
and found him eating scraps, out of a spilt, grey bin.
Because the stray was blind, he couldn't see them there,
still, the Dog-catchers crept closer, closer with care.
YELP! just like that, the dog was caught in their hoop,
and taken to the pound, where he was checked and given food.
The poor little dog was put in a cell,
all he could do now, was wait for the sound of the visitors bell.
Many days had passed, and he was starting to lose hope,
until he felt a gentle hand stroke his thick coat.
A new life full of adventure and excitement awaits,
and this blind little dog's lonely past will abate.
