She questioned throughout the monotony
If there would be an end to disharmony
Cultures rediscover peace.
The only mental escape was writing
Her diary held her silent fighting
Trapped every day.
Tears fell in chorus with the thumping door
When the familial silence was no more
Dragged from home.
From the first tread past the barbed wire fence
Food scarce though the pain was immense
Freedom stripped away.
Only a year had passed from that day
When her ravaged body was sentenced to lay
She is remembered.
Anne Frank.
