Blessing In Disguise

Never have I ever,
Seen the sun rise, but not the light.
A full town, statue still in fright.
Waving from our windows, many made widows.
Never have I ever,
Seen my friend full of dread,
Lifeless in his bed.
A young soul begging for life, not even old enough to have a wife.
Never have I ever,
Had so much time to spare,
Nor weight on my back to bear.
Pain at our core, we look forward to postwar.
With flowers and groceries at our door,
I know that our hearts will restore.
Thank you to the nurses and doctors we adore.
One day we will see clearer skies and we will find a blessing in disguise.
