Poem About Being Scared / (and A Bear)

I was winning cards with my dad.
I heard a noise that sounded bad.
I thought it was dad sounding sad.
Or was he just really mad?
Something gave me a big scare.
I realised it was a grizzly bear.
And then I felt it pull my hair.
So I took a run up the stairs.
I slammed the door behind the bed.
He crashed it open with his head.
Shaking my knees and filled with dread.
I jumped out of the window and off I sped.
I peered behind and saw a sight.
The thing that gave me such a fright.
Was chasing me with all his might.
But it was just my dad, scary all right!
