We arrive in a moment, flung into this world with no warning,
The smiles so wide and warm though it's a cold rainy morning.
We’re carried, fed, changed and cared for,
As we grow older it becomes something we have to endure.
We want to be alone, yet feeling trapped in our room,
When every breath we take feels like another nail in our tomb.
We’ll scream and shout, but never say whats on our mind,
How can we have hope when this is all that's left of mankind?
Now we are free to escape, yet here we sit all alone on a box,
The flat empty, missing the touch of your mother's soft locks.
Friends come and go over the years, as do those who are more,
But occasionally some will stick around, our mind they adore.
We can feel it coming, the time is near,
Our lives have been long, we feel no fear.
We depart in a moment, quiet at the break of dawn,
But we never disappear, through others our memory is carried on.
