Presented to me in disarray was our world
With nothing but a pen in my hand, I try to find clarity
If only known as pensive scribbles in a notebook
Shall my words be taken at face value from the posterity?
Plagued with cognizance of my home I’ve come to hate
My thoughts are broad but ultimately negligible.
My only place of comfort is by your side
Never mind my conscious effort to keep my handwriting legible
The earth won’t feel your footsteps
Nor your inevitable fall
But my heart feels your love
Understand now, why I’ve been trying to define it all
This world wasn’t built for us
The stars won't mimic no matter how many trees we carve our initials into
They didn’t point me in your direction
But here I am, in love with you
