For better or worse, we hide our serpent inside
With my feet stretched, my toes hurt just to match your height
They say the harder you strive you’ll find the meaning of life
Powerless, with my sword stuck in its teeth, that’s when I realize
Sometimes it relies on either luck or fight or flight
The serpent awakes
The cave crumbles its vender
I am lost in a hurricane
Rain poured and I plead
Refuse to believe what I’ve seen
Within raising stakes
I failed and surrendered
Its roar shook through my fragile veins
My slaughter succeeded but what’s growing out from my skin
Are similar scales of green
