the scent of evil spread through the city
the rumours ran rampant like a frisky kitty
someone of worth stood on a pedestal so tall
watching their world wobble and fall
secrets are like dogs that are being restrained
once they get out, they can't be contained
heroes with secrets that scream to get out
don't care who they hurt, no matter their clout
they were once a celebrity who received admiration
now it’s dirty looks and the camera's fascination
the children are told to look for somebody new
even though genuine heroes are few
the fall of a hero is a sinister drop
the feelings of shame won't ever stop
the police are now pounding on their front door
the reporters call out for more, more, more
